I was referred to Progressive Dental as a new patient. I am a dental professional myself and was very impressed that I was greeted by a friendly Krista at the front desk and even their office manager Donna came by as I was filling out my new patient paperwork to say hello. The hygienist was very gentle and thorough. I then went for my exam with Dr. Phan and he was funny, engaging and really approachable. I have worked in many dental offices in the past and was impressed by the whole team at Progressive Dental in Sunpark. I would recommend them to people looking for a practice that is honest, and patient centered. Big high five from me to you guys!

My own experience was what caused us to stop going to this office completely. I asked to have a teeth bleaching done, and if it would be done in-house. The receptionist told me that all work was done in-house and that I would be dealing with the same hygienist for all of my appointments following, to ensure consistency, which I was pleased with. That day, I got mouldings taken to build trays for my mouth and was asked to pay the $200 upfront for the procedure. I paid the amount in full. When I came back a couple days later, I was handed a take-home kit that included 12 syringes of bleaching solution and my mouth trays. Confused and slightly irritated, I went home and following the careful instructions the hygienist had given me. I was warned that I might experience sensitivity, which I was fine with, but I was not prepared for the excruciating pain I dealt with for the whole day following using the bleaching trays. When I tried again the next day, using a smaller amount of bleaching solution, my gums began to bleed and I could not eat dry foods for the rest of the week without shooting pain through my teeth. I went back later that week to ask for an explanation and possible refund, and was told that the best they could do was offer me a $200 credit towards my next service. I turned down the credit offer, since I had no intentions of returning, and never looked back

My brother, who has had a rather impeccable record of healthy teeth since he was a baby, was told that his chronic tooth pain was due to 5 huge cavities that needed to be filled immediately, and so we booked an appointment for the fillings to be done. However, due to our faltering trust in this office, we went to see two other rather reputable dentists in other parts of the city who both told him that he didn't have a single cavity. His chronic pain was simply caused by incoming wisdom teeth.

Very disappointed with service at this clinic, mainly from the owner and head of staff Dr. Brian Palmer. On one occasion they tried X-Raying my face 7 times with a machine they knew wasn't working properly. Afterwards, Palmer ended inserting a freezing needle so fast and far in that it caused me to jump in agony. It actually blanched sections of my cheek completely white which fortunately went away. This was a result of rushing the entire job and not using a metered wand like he should have. He talked the entire time and was more focused on getting back to his Arizona dreamhouse than doing the actual job at hand. After inspecting my filling back home, I discovered he planted a deep hole in it with a dental pick which seemed like a clever attempt to get me back into the office that much sooner. They also charge over the standard dental association fee's forcing you to pay over 30% in excess of what your insurance will cover, likely to pay for Palmer's extravagant U.S. lifestyle. Tired of these Canadian dentists who are constantly on vacation in the U.S. No wonder he just retired. *UPDATE* - I'm using a placeholder name to protect my identity from this awful clinic. The reply below is a perfect example why not to go to this clinic, complete breach of patient privacy. I've never even met Dr, Phan.

Absolutely horrible, wouldn't recommend this to anybody, ever. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My mom, brother, and I have all had horrible experiences at this office.

My mom, who is not new to tooth extractions, went in to have one done. While she was expecting a few days or even weeks of discomfort afterwards, she has been experiencing chronic gum pain and headaches since, which has prompted her to change dentists and talk to our family doctor.

Brian Palmer is a fantastic dentist. When I say no pain I mean everything starting when he gives a needle. You don't even know it! I have been going to Dr. Palmer with our four kid since they were little and now my kids are having kids. I love the office. The staff is great. I HIGHLY recommend this office if you are looking.
